Hi! I’m Amber – the proud mama behind this blog and creator of the ‘You Are Stylist Course’ and leader of the The Oily Mamas Collective team. I live on a farm with my kids and hubby where I dream of walking the fields of my own flower farm one day but for now – my heart is set on mums! To inspire mums across the globe in all things style, health and business because I believe in the creative nature of women and know first and second hand that we often put our dreams on hold and shelf the need for self-care. This blog began out of a personal ‘glam and fab’ journey which was all about getting back to fashion and fitness after having kids. Perhaps it sounds way over the top for a personal project, but I figure my wellness journey deserved a pampered name! Birthed out of my own experience of unexplained intense body pains and low self-esteem, the style and fitness journey was my one way ticket to regaining confidence and feeling more connected to myself again.
The truth is after having my girls I literally went on living in maternity bras, undies, and clothes for way too long. In the process, I lost my confidence and the worst part was I had such low self-esteem that I was way too embarrassed and intimidated to even go into a local boutique and look at clothes because I had no idea what I liked, what looked good on me, what size I really was or even what styles suited my body shape.
As I began to dive back into my little miss fashionista roots and overhaul my wardrobe, I also took the opportunity to give my pantry a complete overhaul as well!
The intense body pains after birth became far too much to handle and there came a day when I was ready to take action. Notoriously known as the bad chef in my family and skilled in avoiding the kitchen and meal prep time I simply decided to cook what I actually liked again. My husband has kissed potatoes, pies, and frozen foods away and graciously allowed me back into the kitchen again. Exploring food led me to rethink what I was using on my skin and in my home because it just made sense that ‘what I put in my body is just as important as what I put on my body’.
So, this whole life upside down to get back on track experience had been leading be back to confidence and wellness exists here for you!
I don’t want other mums to feel anxious and nervous to go into a local boutique! I don’t want other mums to suffer in the kitchen because the #HateToCook is a real deal! I don’t want other mums to be left in the dark about the harmful chemicals which affects our precious emotions and health! And, I want to have fun doing it!
This space exists to help the mums across the globe find your confidence, nurture a happy, healthy and whole lifestyle through good food and natural living – ready to love and serve which begins with yourself first!
Week by week I will share with you to my favourite local boutiques and teach you how to get your style on for the current season because #WhenYouLookGoodYouFeelGood. I’ll also bring you my latest easy recipes that any horrible cook can master in the kitchen and enjoy creating! I’ll help you transform your home and beauty routine into one which is chemical free as a way to #PutYourHealthOnTop!
